Although RBC is the responsibility of companies, the MVO Platform believes that governments should play a major role in making sure that companies behave in a responsible manner. Governments can both encourage and force companies to be more socially responsible, through policies and regulation. In cases of corporate abuse, the government should also intervene and protect victims.<\/p>\n

A ‘smart mix’ of policy instruments that aim at improving RBC should include binding measures – this will strongly increase the impact and reach of voluntary policy measures:<\/span><\/p>\n
